Game Developer

About

Software Engineer at Skybox Labs and graduate of the BCIT Computer Systems Bachelor's degree program specializing in Game Development. Always looking to take on new challenges.

Creating games is more than just putting together some code and art - it's a personal experience; it's about breathing life into a concept, creating something from nothing, telling a story and sharing it with the world, with the hope that players are left with lasting memories and smiles for years to come.

Law Enforcement VR - L.E.V.R

Law Enforcemtn VR is a proof-of-concept project which takes the original virtual scenario training idea, currently used by law enforcement, and brings it into virtual reality. The concept was to provide more immersive 360° scenarios using VR, as well as aleviate the need for instructor operation by adding in voice recognition to progress scenarios. The application was developed for Windows 10 PC's using C#, Unity, Adobe FUSE and Mixamo, SRGS grXML, and the SteamVR library.

The project was completed for the major project (practicum) requirement of the bachelor's degree program at BCIT, and had only one contributer, Alexandra Kabak.

L.E.V.R. was carried out from inital conception and proposal in just under 500 hours. Various new technologies, languages, and skills were learned throughout the process, including:
VR development for the HTC Vive using SteamVR, SRGS (Speech Recognition Grammar Specification) using grXML, Unity, project management.
